Talk:Xbox Hard Disk Partitioning

Would anyone have any objections to this article being removed or redirected to Xbox Partitioning and Filesystem Details? All the infomation on this article is included in Xbox Partitioning and Filesystem Details, making the article redundant --Friedgold 11:39, 27 Aug 2005 (PDT)
Xbox Hard Disk Partitioning is simple and easy to read article, and covers only one subject – namely, partitioning.
Xbox Partitioning and Filesystem Details, in contrast, has tables with an ugly layout, looks like someone's incomplete (and non-polished) stray technical notes and discoveries, and (IMHO) tries to cover too many subjects at once (not only partitioning, but the Config Area and parts of the actual FATX filesystem specification as well!)
In my opinion, it would be better to add just a little bit more information in Xbox Hard Disk Partitioning (one important thing that seems to be missing is the Xbox Linux device node names or partition numbers for the partitions), remove all partitioning related information from Xbox Partitioning and Filesystem Details and split it into two fresh articles: one which covers the Config Area and another one which covers FATX in more depth and detail. All these articles could be interlinked, of course.

I agree with Znark that completing this article, removing the duplicate information from Xbox Partitioning and Filesystem Details and renaming it to something like 'Xbox Config Area and FATX Filesystem Details' makes sense.

I went ahead and added the linux device and drive information to the table.
