At the moment, this is French and German. These are the guidelines for non-English articles on Xbox Linux:
- Non-English articles are not just translations. The English articles are not master articles. All articles can be edited by users, different language versions should be synchronized in both ways.
- If you translate an article, synchronize them later: You can "watch" (that's a menu item at the top of every page) a page, check your watchlist regularly, and in case there have been edits on either the English or the translated page that you're responsible for, you can copy the info to the other version. If you're not sure whether the edit is a good one, you can discuss it on the discussion page of the article.
- There is at least one person for every language with admin permissions so that the write-protected "Main Page" can be translated.
- All French articles start with "fr/", all German articles with "de/" and so on. To the user, this will look like subdirectories on the server.
- All article titles are in the language of the article.
- Every article should include a box at the top that links to all other-language versions of the same article.
- News are not translated at the moment. The english version is included on all "Main Pages".
- If you start a new language, announce it on the discussions page of this page, create the page "Xbox-Linux:Languages/your-language-code", add a link to your user page there, add your email onto your user page, and translate "Main Page" and "Contents". Also add links to the bottom of the english "Contents". Please have a look at other translations (de and fr at the moment) how it is done.
- Before making significant additions or changes, please sign up (top right of every page) and create the "User:YourName" page, so that others know about you and can contact you. Else everything known about you will be your IP.
- To make sure that nobody else is doing the same translation at the asme time, write on your "Xbox-Linux:Languages/your-language-code" page what you're working on, and perhaps translate the page paragraph by paragraph and save after each one, so all duplicate work that can ever be done is a single paragraph.
- Add the following code to both the original and the translated page and change the links to point to all versions of the page:
